Wednesday 8 October
Up early and away ,headed for Goldsmith Island ,passed between it and Linne Island ,lots of surface fish activity .I ended up running up to Lupton Island , passed some beautiful islands with lovely , isolated beaches , I can see why the Whitsundays are rated as highly as they are. Some interesting facts I travelled for 6 hours and went 34 nautical miles or about 70 kilometres . Arrived into a green zone or no take area so headed off in Polly to check it out. Went around a small headland and found a large area of reef that was exposed, walked around on it carefully, lots of clams, some of them quite large, the coral wasn’t the delicate type but large solid bits. Saw a couple of shovelnose rays who were trying to look as if they were hiding really well but not doing a good job of it. Snorkelled back to Holly , towing Polly again and passed over the best coral that I’ve seen yet , fantastic .Sat up the front of Holly at sunset having a quite beer in a wonderful spot
